Stitcher is about trying to find meaning in life, and the process of becoming a vessel for stitched together memories forming some semblance of a self. Musically, the song was deconstructed and put back together again with reverse guitar lines setting the foundation of the song’s chord progression, which Bailey and Sean then continued to write on top of. Originally supposed to fade out, the music took a turn while tracking when Bailey impulsively jammed on the drums, which brought the song’s ending the primal energy it now has, with screaming guitars, vocals, and saxophone all building to a cacophonous moment. This is what happens when your drummer gets bored. #art
