Rose is a folk pop song about running into an ex at a party. That shit is such a downer. The song weaves a delicate tapestry of guitars and percussion that builds in intensity to an all out frenzy as Sean and Bailey solo together on guitar and drums. It’s pretty neat. Listen for Bailey saying “aw shit” at the end, cause they rocked it so hard.
lyrics
Rose colored glasses
Light beneath the shade
She wears red lipstick
Oh, the mess it's made
Cornered in the backroom
Give a little kiss
She bottled up a firefly
Just to watch the light dim
But outside of my jar
Real life is so far
Removed
Party favors
Buried in the couch
Well, she's such a stern stare
Trying to figure me out
Glow hotter
Wanna be in love
But it's a stone to a glass house
I think I'll give it up
Cause outside of my jar
Real life is so far
Outside of my jar
Real life is so far removed
